Dara Eshaghian
Writer-Director of Elevated Genre Films Exploring Humanity, Power, and Identity
Dara Eshaghian is a commercial director and the founder of Devolution Productions, a video production business that he built from the ground. What began as a solo venture has grown into a profitable and expanding business, delivering high-end content in an industry many say is in decline. Today, Dara and Devolution manage large-scale advertising campaigns for clients like Sciton Inc. and Merrick Dog Food (a division of Purina), leading six-figure productions with lean crews and creative precision. With this success Dara is now building the Filmmaking side of his career.
Devolution has become the bedrock of Dara’s narrative filmmaking. His proven ability to execute ambitious creative visions on time and with cinematic polish translates directly into his narrative work that far exceeds its scope. As a Canadian Iranian writer and director, Dara is developing a slate of elevated genre films: thoughtful, visually ambitious stories exploring identity, technology and what it means to be human. His short documentary They Can’t. So I Must. won Best Short at the Montreal International Black Film Festival and the 2022 TVO Short Doc Contest. His latest narrative short Final Report showcases his signature blend of cinematic worldbuilding and philosophical storytelling. Watch the trailer here.
Dara is now building Rezalution Pictures, the narrative sister company to Devolution Production, designed to bring elevated genre films to life using sustainable, quality-first production methods. Rezalution aims to merge emotional intelligence, cinematic spectacle and disciplined execution to create bold, human stories for a new era of filmmaking.
